A global retail financial services business requires an international HR Manager to assume responsibility for Europe and the Middle East. The retail business is under new leadership and is asking commercial and strategic questions of its HR department. This exciting role will answer them by developing current policy and driving forward new initiatives.

The HR Manager role covers Germany, Belgium, France Italy, Belgium, CzechRepublic, Switzerland, Finland, The Netherlands, Bahrain, Oman and UAE and will be based in London with travel incorporated as part of the role.  You will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive and cohesive HR agenda, ensuring that HR policies are as representative and aligned as possible to the Global HR framework in place.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the Business Head based in London and the Global HR Director based in Australia, to define and prioritise HR policies and agenda
  • Ensure standardised roll-out of HR policies where possible and design bespoke solutions where local legislation does not allow this
  • Provide comprehensive HR support around all human capital issues including advice on employment law, recruitment, retention and selections, employee relations,  reward and recognition , learning and development and employee data and metrics
  • Lead strategic HR projects where necessary including introduction of performance management scheme, definition and roll-out of organisation values, effective communications
  • Partner with the business to identify ways in which HR can add-value
  • Manage 3 HR managers and 2 administrators who will be remotely based pan-Europe

Skill & Background:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent commercial qualification
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent preferred but not essential
  • Generalist HR experience ideally within the retail sector with international exposure essential
  • Excellent prioritisation and communication skills
  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level
  • European languages desirable preferably Italian and/or French
  • Must be willing to travel as part of the role
